What do you do when you need to shoot images, but the equipment requires two hands you don’t have?
Once upon a time, there was a scuba instructor.
Diversifying into underwater video, things were looking good.
Now, you can make a good living writing, but anyone will tell you that if you don’t have video to show folks, you’ll at best have a limited audience. Visual content is King in the electronic age.
I’m going to have to rejoin that group of people that make visual content if there’s to be a vibrant future for me. But how? I only have one fully functional hand and arm!
Sitting and ruminating on this problem for a year, like most answers it came suddenly. I own two computer Tablets similar to an Ipad – and they both have still and video camera capability. Good capability.
The key is going to be getting something to hold the Tablet and mount it to a tripod. The tripod takes the place of my affected side, allowing me control of the shoot. Then I can start experimenting with stuff like a vlog…and perhaps more.
One step at a time. We’ll see next month when the tripod gear gets here. Stay tuned.
